| Flowmeter Comparison | Investigate the operation and characteristics, including accuracy and energy losses, of three types of flow meters by measuring volumetric flow rates and associated pressure losses. Timed volume collection is one reference measurement of flow rate. The Micromotion Flowmeter can be used to add an electronic measurement of flowrate. |
| Fluid Standpipe | A computer-controlled fluid-flow system illustrates the conservation of mass and energy in a fluid standpipe system. As the flow rate through the system is increased the frictional resistance to flow in the exit tubing increases, thus a higher level builds up in the standpipe in order to overcome this friction. Differential equations that model the conservation of mass and energy in the system can be written and compared to experimental data. |
| Flume- Open Channel Water | The water flume has a 2.5m x 76mm x 250mm channel bed. A jacking arrangement permits the slope of the bed to be adjusted between -1 to 3%. The water level in the working section of the flume is controlled by an overshot weir arrangement at the exit. Additional equipment includes a stagnation tube. |
| Free Vibration | Uses the Impulse hammer and accelerometer to study vibration in model. |
| Frequency Response of Materials | The frequency response of different materials can be measured in this anechoic acoustics testing box. |
