Room Schedules » Project Rooms (150 & 160)

The First-Year Projects rooms are located on level 1 of the ITL Laboratory. These two identical spaces are designed for project courses such as GEEN 1400 (First-Year Engineering Projects) and GEEN 3400 (Invention and Innovation) that feature a mixture of lecture, discussions and design/build lab time.

Room Information

Project Rooms• Half of each room is furnished wall-to-wall carpeting, movable chairs and oval tables for group activities and discussion. This "smart" classroom also contains a pull-down screen, an overhead projector on a rolling cart, a ceiling-mounted projector and a VCR, with controls at the podium computer. An ITL computer login/password is required to access the smartroom capabilities and PC.

• The other half of each room has linoleum floor tiles and is furnished with workbenches and stools for project construction, assembly and general hand tool and lab work. Five HP PCs and a printer are located at one end of each space for classes that require computer or Internet work. A wall of storage lockers enables student teams to keep their project work handy and secure when not in class. Both rooms also each contain one white board, and locked cabinets to store equipment, tools and supplies.

• Also available in the room is a CUClickers system (to support the use of "clickers"), which is a way for students to electronically register responses to the instructor.

• The first-year projects rooms are reserved for projects courses. Students who take classes in these rooms are free to use the room and its resources when the room is not reserved for another activity. Please check the weekly room reservation schedule posted on the door before entering during your non-classroom time.

Users of the projects rooms are expected to clean the white boards and work areaa when finished, put away all materials and equipment, return all furniture to its original arrangement, and dispose of all trash.

Students enrolled in courses scheduled in these rooms may use them on a drop-in basis when no other group has scheduled the room. Refer to the weekly schedule posted on the door before entering.

Project-Rooms Reservation Schedule

The approximate weekly schedule is shown below for both project rooms. To see a more detailed schedule for the current week, please view the posted schedule at the entry door to each room.
