Room Schedules » Broida Lab Plaza (2B10)
The Broida Lab Plaza is located on level 2B in the ITL Laboratory. It consists of a large, open area containing 16 fixed LabStations, each designed to accommodate a team of up to four students on each side. Mobile experiments on wheeled carts can be connected to each LabStation, or an experiment can be placed on the work surface.
Plaza Information
• A classroom PA system in the lab plaza provides the capability for instructors to communicate with their large classes. Check out microphones and learn how to use the channels and speakers at the Equipment Checkout Office (ITLL 2B14).
• Included in the lab plaza is a 240 sq ft break-out room intended as a quiet area for short "stand-up" lectures or discussions with up to 20 students at a time. Use of a break-out room goes first to the class(es) who have reserved the lab plaza at that time. When not reserved, they become open workspaces available on a first-come basis.
• Each break-out room is furnished with moveable bar-height tables and stools, wall-to-wall carpet, and two large white boards. This "smart" classroom also contains a pull-down screen, an overhead projector on a rolling cart, a ceiling-mounted projector and a VCR, with controls at the podium's computer. An active ITL computer login/password is required to access the smartroom capabilities and computer.
Users of the lab plazas, LabStations and break-out rooms are expected to clean the white boards and work areas when finished, put away all materials and equipment, return all furniture to its original arrangement, and dispose of all trash.
