Use SolidWorks software to turn your dreams into reality.
The ITL CAD CAM TAs are available to help engineering students and instructors in using Solidworks software for design and fabrication in the Manufacturing Center.
The ITL Program has many 2-D and 3-D modeling software applications - SolidWorks, MasterCAM, AutoCAD, CorelDraw, I-DEAS, etc. - that you can use to design, prototype and fabricate. When you are ready to build a prototype part, use the computer to program one of the many CAM machines:
CNC (computer numerically controlled): A manufacturing machine with computer-controlled or programmed instructions
Laser cutter: A machine that uses a laser to cut the material
Rapid prototyping machine: A machine that creates 3-D "prints" of a part somewhat "rapidly," compared to a CNC mill.
For more information on these machines or any of our non-CMC (conventional) machines, see information on this website about the Manufacturing Center.
